Artist Research Paper
Today in class you drew a name from a hat, the name of one of the artists from the video Painter's Painting (watched in class). Select one work of art from your chosen artist. Look at it slowly, and with attention to all of the elements and principles of design (color, balance, rhythm, texture, etc...) Think about it. What is it? What does it do? What is the character of the work? Research it. Read about it. What were the concerns of the artist? Now, imagine that you are describing the work to someone who has never seen it before. Articulate this description in no less than 200 words. Use at least six words from the vocabulary list in your description. Additionally include a descriptive statement describing why the Art world regards your artist as significant. Cite your sources using MLA format. Use 12 point font, double spaced, with a header that includes your name, class name, the current term, and your artist's name. Include a color print of the artwork you are describing, as well as a photo of the artist.
Due date TBA.
